A SIM card is a small data chip that is found inside a cell phone. It stores phone data information like text messages, picture messages and contacts. If your SIM card gets corrupted or if you delete text or picture messages, there may be a way to recover the data. The reason is because a SIM card still retains some data even after you delete items from your phone, but only a third-party recovery program can retrieve it. One reason you may want to view deleted texts is to see what your child or significant other is texting to others.
Ø Insert the SIM card into a SIM card reader and plug in the reader to your computer.
Ø Go to a website that lets users download a SIM card recovery program. Download and install the program on your laptop. Some programs are free and others cost a one-time fee.
Ø Open the file recovery software program on your computer and click on the button that will read your SIM or recover the data.
Ø Choose what type of data you want to recover. Some examples include "Contacts," "Text Messages," or "Picture Messages."
Ø Choose to option to restore the files back to your SIM card. Wait for the program to try to recover the SIM card files.
Ø Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" and click on the SIM card icon to view the data inside. Make sure your files have been restored.
